Note also that the binary distribution available at the downloads page is a fully functional version of the PocketHHT application. It provides 15 free executions of the application for evaluation purposes. After that it must be activated with a valid licence. At no stage need the software be reinstalled.


Open Field Communications implements a flexible licensing model for all its software products. Under this model, for each product (such as PocketHHT) that an individual or company has licensed, a unique licence key is provided by OFC. This key can be used to activate any instance of the product on any harware, up to the maximum number of licences held by that company. Moreover, at any time the applicaton may be de-activated on a current device and re-used to activate on another device. The benefits of this approach include:

• Minimising the work required to maintain licences for an organisation
• It removes the need for an organisation to keep track of multiple licences keys
• It allows the number of licences held by an organisation to be quickly increased without the need for new keys
• If a user changes hardware or an employee leaves, their licence may be quickly transferred from one PDA/Workstation to another
• Allows multiple-licences to be pooled for an organisation, increasing return on licencing investment
