An FWM interface can be configured for any existing Fieldgate installation. FWM runs on a central server (Microsoft, or Unix-based) that is accessed by all potential network clients. This FWM server application typically resides in the user's own intranet and all access is controlled by the using organisation's own IT policies.
FWM is a caching middleware application that collects the field device data from all associated remote Fieldgates, and serves XML, Graphical and text data to clients for data storage and visualisation.
Remote clients view a pre-configured web page that requests remote data from FWM and renders HTML output to a (ubiquitous) web-browser.
